We strive to provide dance students exceptional dance education and experiences; promoting the art of dance in the hearts of children in Lea County, New Mexico.
The LCCB is a publicly supported organization formed to cultivate, promote, sponsor, and develop the appreciation and understanding of ballet amongst the general public.
The LCCB has been a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation since 1988.

The Lea County Chamber Ballet was originally The Las Cruces Chamber Ballet founded by Kevin and Michele Self. For 41 years the Las Cruces Chamber Ballet was an icon in the Las Cruces community in promoting classical ballet and other various dance forms. Dance students were given opportunities to develop their talents and have professional, high-quality ballet productions and performance experiences.
In 2025, directors and teachers, including Laura Self and CharlieAnn Manning, retired after teaching, mentoring, inspiring, and leaving a legacy for hundreds of students over the years. The LCCB was transferred to Las Cruces native and LCCB Alumnus Bethany Bluth, who now has a dance studio and community in and around Hobbs, NM to share all the same values, passion, dedication, and experiences that were given to her through The Las Cruces Chamber Ballet.
This company was known as the LCCB and will continue to be the LCCB for the next generation of dancers. Staying in our great state of New Mexico, the LCCB continues to be the longest continuously running ballet company in New Mexico.
