Parents Watch Week
The last week of each month dancers have a casual and mini performance at the studio. Parents are invited into the studio classroom during the last 10 minutes of class to see what dancers have been working on.
May Dance Recital
Our dance recital in May is our BIG end of the season show at Tydings Auditorium! All classes perform on stage with beautiful costumes and choreography. Recitals are themed and have all dance genres in the same show. Doll Baby and Tiny Toes classes have their own Saturday matinee show. Older dancers get to perform twice in their evening shows on a Friday and Saturday.
The Nutcracker Ballet
The Nutcracker is the most famous of all the Ballets. A “Ballet” is a traditional story told through ballet dance. The Nutcracker was first performed in Russia in 1892. It is a story that takes place at Christmas time and is performed by hundreds of dance companies and studios throughout the world each December. Dancers will grace the stage with the original storyline and traditional characters, music, costumes, props, backdrops, and more. We are thrilled to be producing this beautiful ballet for our dancers to work towards and enjoy being a part of each year. Young ballet classes will be performing in one of our two performances of “The Nutcracker.” Older classes will perform in both shows. All Nutcracker performances are at Tydings Auditorium in December.
Christmas Showcase
All dance genres not performing in “The Nutcracker” will get to perform in our Christmas Showcase performances- Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-hop, Acro, and Ballet Folklorico. Performances will be held at The Lea County Center for the Arts during the annual community Hobbs Christmas Tree Lighting event. Come watch your child perform and then step outside and enjoy the community event. Performances will be casual- performing class by class. Friends and family can watch just their child or stay and enjoy seeing more classes perform. No tickets or fees for admission. The dancers' costumes are TBA and will be simple.
Competitions and Conventions
Dance company members travel and compete at dance competitions and participate in dance conventions as another venue for learning experiences and growth in dance.
Community Performances
Local community events are a fun place to perform. The location, type of event, and dates all factors if we take dances to perform at a local event. Events may pop up throughout the year and will be offered to the specific groups that would be most accommodating to perform at the event.
